Renu G Kumar, an internationally acclaimed Indian Dancer, Director, and Choreographer, seamlessly fuses Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Folk, Bollywood, and Western dance, showcasing her rich training and artistic exploration. As the visionary founder of RGK Modern Indian Dance Academy since 2004, Renu has mentored 2000+ students and crafted 96+ innovative compositions, exemplifying her commitment to the cultural tapestry of Indian dance.

DANCING WITH A PURPOSE:  Independently producing twenty Bollywood dance dramas in Minnesota, she’s raised funds for causes like Red Cross, Unite for Sight, Second Harvest Heartland and Alzheimer’s Association, illustrating the transformative power of art. Beyond dance, Renu, a certified yoga instructor, embraces a holistic approach, infusing her creations with a profound mind-body connection.

Renu, honored with awards for performances, directing, and choreography, received the prestigious Achievement Award for Modern Indian Dance from Dr. Dash Foundation and India Association of Minnesota at Connect India 2019. Her story, featured in Voyage Minnesota and various media outlets, highlights her impactful journey.

Wearing multiple hats—writer, choreographer, director—Renu, guided by the mantra LOVE, SMILE, PRAY, DANCE, AND DREAM, illustrates the symbiosis of art and philanthropy. As a cultural leader and lifetime trustee, she has left an indelible mark on organizations like ASMN (Agarwal Samaj of Minnesota), HSMN (Hindu Society Minnesota), MPS (Minnesota Punjabhi Society), and Gujrati Samaj Art.
